Instructions for Pupils

At Magdalene Matriculation Higher Secondary School, we believe that discipline, responsibility, and respect form the foundation of student success. All pupils are expected to adhere to the following guidelines to maintain a healthy, productive, and respectful school environment.

Punctuality & Attendance
  • Students must arrive at least 10 minutes before the first bell.
  • Latecomers may not be allowed into the classroom without valid reasons.
  • Regular attendance is mandatory; absence must be accompanied by a leave letter signed by a parent or guardian.
  • Long absences require prior permission from the Principal. Fees must still be paid during absence.
Uniform & Personal Appearance
  • Students must wear the prescribed school uniform, neat and well-pressed, on all working days.
  • Uniform specifications vary by class level and must be strictly followed.
  • Students may wear color dress only on their birthday.
  • Hair should be neatly groomed, and nails trimmed.
  • Wearing gold, silver, or expensive ornaments is strictly prohibited.
Academic Responsibility
  • Students must complete homework regularly. Negligence will be taken seriously.
  • Textbooks, notebooks, and necessary stationery should be brought as per the timetable.
  • Students must maintain their school diary daily and show it to parents for remarks or updates.
Behavior & Conduct
  • Pupils must be respectful to teachers, staff, and fellow students.
  • Use of English is mandatory within the school premises to encourage language fluency.
  • Loitering, shouting, or disturbing other classes during school hours is not permitted.
  • Students must keep the classrooms and school premises clean and litter-free.
Care for School Property
  • Students are expected to handle school property (furniture, books, lab equipment, etc.) with care.
  • Any damage to school property—intentional or accidental—must be reimbursed by the student or guardian.
Health & Hygiene
  • Students suffering from any infectious disease must not attend school until fully recovered and certified infection-free.
  • Personal hygiene and cleanliness must be maintained at all times.
Participation & Engagement
  • Participation in all school functions, celebrations, and co-curricular activities is compulsory unless exempted on medical grounds.
  • Students must represent the school with pride and discipline during inter-school events and competitions.
